During this workshop 150 students, created four 4 ft by 6 ft panels to be installed in the hallway entrance of the ceramic art department.
The workshop was held during regularly scheduled ceramic classes for one week. The students were so enthusiastic they came in to work on this project after class and brought their parents and teachers in during evening open studio time.
1700+ pounds of clay were processed, rolled into slabs, joined together and sculpted into a design based on student drawings, ideas and suggestions, with input from ceramic arts teacher, Lee Burningham and workshop instructor Nan Kitchens. The mural is to be installed when school renovation is completed. For workshop information for your school please email info@nankitchensceramics.com or call 305-451-9885
